On Sunday we'll hear from the letter to the Ephesians, telling what Jesus has done to bring together Jews and Gentiles, once foreigners to each other: "Christ Jesus is our peace; in his flesh he has made both groups into one and has broken down the dividing wall, that is, the hostility between us... So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are citizens with the saints and also members of the household of God" Ephesians 2:14,19
The early Christians saw in Jesus the power of reconciliation, the power of bringing together those who lesser powers try to keep separated. On our better days, we reach for what he has promised: forgiveness, reconciliation, peace, and all through the power of love. This Sunday we share God's presence among us, with Rev. Arnd Braun-Stork presiding at a service of Holy Communion.
